This is the new track by my friend David Hasert - “You can put your arms around a melody”

The video is made of material from Godfrey Reggios movie “Koyaanisqatsi”, which came out in 1982. David wrote this song when his girlfriend left to New York a couple of months ago. This movie used to define his picture of the city.

I really like the video and am anxious to watch the whole film, since I am a big fan of documentaries that only show people everyday behavior. Wait for the old man in the end, who keeps on shaving his face, I met someone exactly like this in a New York bathhouse a week ago.

I think this song might be a major step for David, who is already one of Colognes most hyped DJs right now, to be known elsewhere.

This pic proves again how big “The Settlers Of Catan” has become in the US. Couldn’t have imagined that when I bought the game on the board games convention in Essen in 1995, where it won the price of the best board game of the year.

Patrick Wolf - “Hard Times”

He did a great show a couple of weeks ago at Melt! Festival. He changed his outfits a couple of times and is a great entertainer. Good to have him back.

I saw him the first time in 2003 at Haldern Pop Festival, during my big time Bright Eyes period that was started by the fantastic “Lifted” album. Back then I didn’t like Patricks gig that much. It was a bit dark and too weird for me at that time. Or maybe too early in the day to get inspired by him alone his violine and some electronic tools.

I started liking him with his second album “Wind In The Wires”, especially the song “The Libertine”. Two years ago after releasing his poppy third album “The Magic Position” on a major label he decided to quit music for good after having a fight with his drummer on stage.

Now he is back with his fourth album “The Bachelor”, I recommend it highly just like his upcoming show in Cologne during c-o pop Festival.

I love watching self filmed documentaries by bands I like. This one is special to me because it shows Modest Mouse right before releasing “Crowded Lonesome West” in 1997 one of my favourite albums and their breakthrough. They are still so young and enthusiastic in this video.

It also includes interviews with Built To Spill and everybodys favourite Elliott Smith. It shows how even bands from different music backgrounds connect through their similar attitude.

This is just part one of four.
